Have a supreme Christmas dinner

Christmas dinner is always the most special meal of the year, now Coventry folk have a chance to make it even more special, and a chance to move away from the traditional Christmas turkey.

Coventry Market butcher Philip Reid of Reid Butchers, has just acquired some prized Bronze Turkeys and  a selection of prime beef including that of a supreme Champion from Stoneleigh Showground. This is not your average beef this is some of the tenderest meat you will ever eat. Costing a staggering £3.400, it’s about three and a half times the price of your average animal.

Mr Reid said, ”This is the first time we have ever bought such a beast, I believe this is the best beef you can buy right now, this really is top stuff, and an ideal alternative to a turkey”.

Irishman Philip has been dealing in beef for 45 years, emigrating to Australia on the £10 assisted passage with just £65 in his back pocket. It’s there he met his Coventry born wife Janet. The couple moved back to the UK setting up a shop in Coventry, eventually moving into Coventry market in 1972.
