Final Two Tone@30 Plaque Unveiled

The final Two Tone @ 30 Plaque was unveiled this afternoon at the site of the old Virgin Records in the Bird Cage in Coventry.

The "Soul Hole" was run by Pete Waterman OBE, who was the first Specials manager and John Bradbury who worked there, both were on hand to unveil the plaque made by Coventry firm Harris Signs and sponsored by Kev Monks, along with Coventry's Lord Mayor Jack Harrison and Pete Chambers, who came up with this latest tourist attraction and a man who has done so much for the City of Coventry.

The ceremony which drew a large crowd, was attended by Two Tone fans from as far away as Leeds, Kent and London with Specials members Neville Staple and Horace Panter, members of the Swinging Cats and Special Brew and City Councillors Gary Ridley, Roger Bailey and Tony Skipper also there.

The event was followed by a party at Bar Number 3 and saw sets from Coventry bands The Tones, highly talented youngsters who make up one of the best unsigned bands in the city and Special Brew.
