Tonight will be an historic night for Coventry Sphinx FC.

Danny McSheffrey's first team travel to Solihull Moors for Sphinx's first ever match in the Second Round of the Birmingham Senior Cup whilst Nigel Starkey's Youth Team travel to Swindon Town for an FA Youth Cup Second Round tie.

Sphinx, who beat Banbury United 2-0 in the Birmingham Senior Cup First Round, will be under no illusions how tough their task is at Damson Parkway, as they face the likes of Adam Cunnington who has been scoring goals for fun for Solihull since his summer move from Barwell and former Coventry City youngster Matthew West. However, the ground does bring back some happy memories for Sphinx as this was where they won the Birmingham Midweek Floodlit Cup in 2007 with Danny McSheffrey scoring the opening goal against Dudley.

Sphinx travel without Kyle Rhodes who has left to re-join his former club Bedworth United. He made 131 appearances and scored 34 goals.

Kick off at Damson Parkway is at 7.45pm. Admission is £5 for adults and £2.50 concessions.

Nigel Starkey's Sphinx youngsters travel to Swindon Town, having already put Kidderminster Harriers, Redditch United, Eccleshall, Mickleover Sports and Hereford United out of the competition.

They take on the Football League Puma Youth Alliance South West Conference side at the County Ground with the winners making a trip to Vicarage Road in Round Three to face Watford.

Kick off in Swindon is at 7.30pm and admission is £3 for adults.
