Eight Goal Drubbing For Sphinx

Coventry Sphinx were beaten 8-2 by second place Boldmere St Michaels in a remarkable Midland Alliance fixture this afternoon at Sphinx Drive.

Sphinx defender Jamie McAteer had Paul Charnley's side ahead in the 15th minute only for Mark Mason to level five minutes later.

Lee Osbourne added a second for the visitors on 31 minutes with goals from Simeon Tulloch and Adam Swain flying in before the break.

Osbourne hit his second three minutes after the restart and a goal from Adam Wood made it 6-1 before Tom Thacker pulled one back through a 68th minute penalty.

Five minutes from time, Anthony Juxon hit the seventh before Osbourne completed his hat-trick in the last minute.

Sphinx are at home to Tipton Town in a re-arranged Midland Alliannce fixture on Tuesday night. Kick off at Sphinx Drive is at 7.45pm.
