McSheffrey Hat-trick For City Reserves

According to reports received, Fit again Gary McSheffrey hit a hat-trick in five minutes and Callum Wilson scored twice for Coventry City Reserves in a 5-1 practice match victory against Peterborough United this afternoon.

In a behind closed doors game at Ryton, City hit Peterborough four times in the first half.

Callum Wilson put City ahead in the seventh minute before Gary McSheffrey hit the post. McSheffrey then beat Posh keeper Joe Lewis with an 18th minute right footed shot and hit a third two minutes later for Andy Thorn's side with a penalty.

It was all City as McSheffrey (pictured below) and James McPake struck the post, McSheffrey's with another penalty before the Coventry born midfielder  completed his hat-trick following a good lay-off from Clive Platt with only 23 minutes gone.

Platt was involved again in City's fifth goal in the second half setting up Callum Wilson for his second of the afternoon.

Arron Wickham scored a consolation goal for Peterborough as City romped to a 5-1 win.
