Hockaday Starts With A Win At Crewe

New Coventry City U21's coach Dave Hockaday started his City tenure with a 3-0 win at Crewe Alexandra.

Hockday named four trialists in a starting eleven which also saw new signing Blair Turgott start wih Shaun Miller and George Thomas up front.

City won a second minute corrner but conceded a penalty ten minutes later. Reice Charles-Cook in the City goal went the right way and saved and then blocked the rebound to get the Sky Blues off the hook.

In the 21st minute, Blair Turgott crowned his debut with a goal, finishing off a great ball from George Thomas and seven minutes later, City added a second when Thomas again crossed for Blair Turgott to score.

Turgott had chances to get his hat-trick in the second half before Hockaday sent on a fourth trialist in place of Shaun Miller.

In the 73rd minute, City, who had seven corners in the game, had a third goal when George Thomas drove a low shot powerfully into the net to City their first win eight matches and get David Hockaday's tenure off to a great start.
