Coventry City U23's coach Jason Farndon sais that his side did well during their 3-0 victory over Cardiff City this afternoon.

Farndon, named what was a development side for the game which saw Dexter Walters, Billy Stedman and Jack Burroughs finding the net against a Cardiff City side that had Lee Tomlin red carded in the 24th minute.

Farndon said about the win to the club website: “I keep harping on about playing young players and having a young squad and that was the team talk before the start of the game.

“The team today was the lads in the development squad who are the ones we are trying to develop this year and they did well and they gave a good application this afternoon.

“All the development team knock on my door and ask why they aren’t playing when the first team aren’t involved.

“But, at the same time it’s good for some of them to train play with the first team and see what their level is and you could see Cardiff had a couple of pros in and it didn’t work for them.

“We worked together all week as a team and we did well.”

Farndon also praised debutant David Bremang and said: “Dave is an interesting person and player.

“He is very quiet and he is a bit of an unknown, but he got two assists today and if he realised what he can do he could be a good player.

“He’s never played in an a academy before, so he is a raw and fresh talent, so we have to be patient with him.”
