Coventry City U21's started their PDL League 2 North game with a 0-0 draw against Swansea City.
 
Darren Murray, the new U21's boss who took over from Ian Foster in the summer, was able to include new signing Simeon Jackson in his starting line up, along with Mo Coulibaly and Conor Thomas.
 
City started with a James Maddison free kick beat away for a corner which was cleared after a hundred seconds on a cloudy afternoon at the James Parnell Stadium.
 
With Steven Pressley, Neil Macfarlane. Steve Ogrozivic, Marcus Hall amongst the scouts and agents in a crowd of around forty, Samuel won the Swans a sixth minute corner and a minute later Kenji Gorre fired wide following a free kick.
 
In the eleventh minute, Lee Burge made a good block after Coulibaly had given the ball away and a minute later Samuel got in a shot which was brilliantly blocked by City's U17 international Cian Harries.
 
 
Burge made another save diving to his right to push a Kris Scott shot away for a corner that was cleared.
 
Jackson showed some nice feet, playing some good balls for a City side skippered by Ivor Lawton who played in the centre of defence with Jack Finch, who took one for the team in the 26th minute with a booking for a tackle from behind.
 
Samuel fired over before George Thomas won a free kick on the half hour mark. A minute later and Samuel hit the post from a ball on the right but the flag was up and the score remained 0-0‎.
 
Henry Jones curled over a 38th minute free kick before the half ended.
 
Ben Stevenson came on for Simeon Jackson at the break and City were straight on the attack having a 46th minute corner which was headed on by Lawton cleared off the line.
 
Swanson won a corner four minutes later through Samuel and had Liam Shephard fire wide from the edge of the area two minutes later.
 
In the 55th minute, City, who were being pressed back more and cleared another Swans corner .
 
Gorre fired wide as did Jones before both sides made a change with Coulibaly going off.
 
 
Swansea's substitute in Copp won a 67th minute corner and a minute later, City's second chance of the half fell to Jack Finch who drove wide from the edge of the area.
 
Conor Thomas worked well for the Sky Blues, who were greatful to Lee Burge who were pushed away a powerful shot with sixteen minutes to go.
 
A 75th minute City corner was headed wide by Stevenson before Darren Murray replaced Conor Thomas with Kyle Spence.
 
Devon Kelly Evans had a good game working hard, making some good tackles and laying off some good passes for the Sky Blues who again preparing players for first team football.‎
 
But there were no goals and a draw was a fair result.‎
