Coventry City U21's ended their 2014\2015 PDL League 2 North campaign with a defeat to Leeds United.

For what could be City U21's last game at this level if the Sky Blues first team are relegated to League 2, Dave Hockaday against a team he managed, named a young team which included James Maddison and Blair Turgott as well a trialist at centre half.

Leeds were straight on the attack at Ryton forcing Charles-Cook into a low save in the opening seconds.

City were awarded a fifth minute free kick, some twenty yards out. Maddison took it and his shot hit the bare and bounced down and Leeds cleared following a thrown In up to Luke Booker who drove wide with only the keeper to beat.

Sambou headed a Spence cross wide in the ninth minute as Tony Mowbray arrived to cast an eye on the proceedings.

Sambou battled well up front and did Turgott who played in Maddison for a right footed shot which hit Atkiinson's right hand post in the 20th minute.

Maddison got through but fired over four minutes later, for a City side that had snatched a draw at Leeds a few weeks ago.

Issac Assenso fired over from twenty yards before Leeds won a free kick on the edge of the area for a Harries trip. Eoghan Stokes sent the kick over for a goal kick. Charles-Cook made a hash of that but had to pull off a good save from McDaid.

Seconds before the half hour mark, Leeds took the lead when Robbie McDaid got through and slotted the ball into bottom left hand corner of the net.

Devon Kelly Evans continued to make some surging runs and Kyle Spence continued to work hard as the wind got up.

Haynes sent over a cross which was too high and the hard working Turgott won a corner but the Sky Blues trailed at the break.

The trialist who had been at fault for the goal was replaced by Ben Stevenson for the second half which saw Ivor Lawton solid at the back.

Leeds won three corners in the 51st minute and a throw before Lawton put in a superb tackle.

An error two minutes later by Harries, who had received a Young Player Of The Year award on Saturday, saw Booker get in a shot but Charles-Cook was on hand to push away and then catch when the next shot came in.

Berry volleyed at Charles -Cook in the 57th minute after the visitors had made their second change.

Maddison sent another shot from the edge of the area high and wide and was replaced in the 62nd minute by Jordan Shipley with Harries who had picked up a knock being replaced two minutes later by Callum Maycock.

Shipley won City a 65th minute corner but it was over-hit and Leeds cleared.

Another corner for Leeds came from the next attack. That was cleared up to Turgott but Atkinson in the Leeds goal was out and blocked with his legs.
Turgott won a 69th minute corner. This time. Jack Finch steered wide before conceding a free kick which finally saw Vann fire over.

Leeds used their final substitute and City won a 78th minute corner that Atkinson grabbed at the second attempt.

Going into the final nine minutes and Reice Charles-Cook got down to smother a Bell shot in a game that was getting niggly with lots of little fouls committed.

Kelly-Evans put a cross to close to the keeper and Stevenson hit a swerving shot which Atkinson spilled for a corner.

A trip gave City a free kick with three minutes left. Haynes took it but deflected and was caught.

Sambou wasted a one on one with the keeper and fired over when clean through and City's hopes ended.
