Club Coach: Leaves at 4pm from White Street Car Park and costs £15.

Leave M1 at Junction 37 and follow the signs for Barnsley FC.

Barnsley railway station is about a ten minute walk away. This station is served by trains running between Sheffield & Leeds.

From the train station turn left away from the town centre and head towards the bridge that the dual-carriageway runs over. Go under the bridge and turn left up the slip road and then take the first road on the right and head towards the Metro Dome leisure complex at the top of the hill. Oakwell is now clearly visible.

By Car
Leave the M1 at Junction 29 and take the A617 towards Chesterfield. At the end of the dual carriageway at the edge of the town centre, turn right onto the A61 towards Sheffield. At the first roundabout turn left and the stadium is down on the right. For the main entrance turn right into Sheffield Road and then right again into the Club car park. However the club car park is for permit holders only and the nearby Tesco store will not be allowing supporters to use their car park on matchdays. So it is a case of finding some street parking.

By Train
Chesterfield railway station is walkable from the stadium, although it will take you between 20 and 30 minutes to walk to do so. Alternatively,there is a taxi rank outside the station though as traffic is likely to be slow along Sheffield Road on a matchday this could end up costing you more time and money than you thought.

If you wish to travel to the ground by bus a 5 minute walk into the town centre will enable you to catch a bus from Cavendish Street.This will take 5-15 minutes to get to the ground,depending on traffic.Come out of the station and turn left and follow the road to the left side of the Chesterfield Hotel.There is a footbridge over the A61 Inner Relief Road,which will take you into Corporation Street.At the end of the street you will see the museum on the left,and the famous crooked spire church directly ahead of you. Go over the zebra crossing and turn right,carry on this road,walk past Eyres furniture store and The Winding Wheel.Cavendish Street is the next turning on the left. Bus stops T1 and T2 are on the opposite side of the road.

Walking directions from the railway station:

Come out of the station and turn left. The Chesterfield Hotel will be directly ahead of you,take the road to the right hand side and carry on over the mini roundabout, into Brewery Street,up the hill and over the A61 Inner Relief Road with Chesterfield College on your right hand side. After 5 minutes walk you will reach the end of the road at the Old Post Office Resturant.Turn right and after a minutes walk you will come to a mini roundabout.Take the right turn into Sheffield Road. This road dips down,up and then down again for around 15 minutes.At the big roundabout with the car showrooms you will see the Donkey Derby pub in front of you and the ground thurther along Sheffield Road. Visiting fans must carry on past the HTM Products Stand to reach the Printabilty Stand at the north end of the ground.

Shuttle Bus

The Club are also have a shuttle bus which operates on matchdays (every 10 minutes 18.20 - 19.30 weekdays). It departs from Rose Hill by the Town Hall. The bus is also in operation after the game (last bus on weekdays 22.25). The fare is £1 each way.

​By car from South (A1): Look for signs for 'Football Car Parks'. Two miles after the Norman Cross junction, exit A1 and follow signs to Peterborough (A1139) onto the A1139 Fletton Parkway. Exit the Fletton Parkway at junction 3. At roundabout turn left onto the A1260 Nene Parkway. Take first exit and at roundabout turn right into Shrewsbury Avenue. At T-junction after half a mile by Longueville Autos, turn right into the A605 Oundle Road. Fair Meadow car park,is on the left hand side after one mile and the stadium is opposite.

​From North (A1): Exit the A1 at signpost 'Leicester, Peterborough North A47'. Turn left at T-junction onto the A47. Exit the A47 after 5 miles, at junction 15. At the roundabout turn right onto the A1260 Nene Parkway. Exit the Nene Parkway after 1 mile. At the mini-roundabout by the 'Gordon Arms' turn left onto the A605 Oundle Road. Fair Meadow car park is on the left-hand side after one and a half miles.

​From East (A47): Pass through the village of Eye following signs to Peterborough A47. At the roundabout turn left and at the next roundabout turn right. At the following roundabout take the 2nd exit. Then as from North.

​From Railway Station: About three-quarters of mile from stadium. By bus: No buses run from the station itself, but the bus station is just across Bourges Boulevard. On foot, turn right out of station and then left - take footbridge over the main road to bus station.

​By foot: Turn right out of station and head towards the main road (Bourges Boulevard). Turn right and head towards the big roundabout. Go under the Railway Bridge and walk up the path or steps to main road. Use the pedestrian underpass and pass the Evening Telegraph on the left-hand side. At the traffic lights, turn right and the ground is situated on the left hand side, over the town bridge.There are of course plenty of taxi cabs available from the Railway Station if you don't fancy the 10 minute walk.

​Car Parking There is parking at the stadium for cars in the Horse Fair Meadow and Pleasure Fair council car parks which are pay and display £5 up to 10 hours. There is also parking at the stadium for coaches at £16 and £12 for minibuses.​
