Coventry City U18's started 2012 wiith a 1-0 victory over Bristol City.

With Josh Ruffels on first-team duty, City took their time getting into this game against an organised Bristol City side.

They did create the better of the chances with the best coming in the ninth minute when Captain Jordan Willis went on a surging run down the left before finding Clarke-Harris who centred for Will Roberts to smack the keepers left hand post.

After dealing with a spell of pressure, City were on the attack with Jonson Clarke Harris sending a powerfully hit shot wide, heading a Richards cross just over and winning a corner.

Lee Burge saved from Burns before an entertaining half finished with Lewis Garner having a twenty yarder pushed away by Sandford for a corner.

It was more of the same in the second half with Willis, Fletcher and Phillips solid in defence and Clark-Harris, Garner and Roberts all causing the visitors problems.

In the 76th minute, City got their break and Billy Daniels got to a through ball to beat the keeper to delight the City support.

Lee Burge, who had a good game, pulled off a cracking save from Joe Bryan as City hold on to win.
