Weaver Returns To Haunt Blaze

Coventry Blaze were beaten at home by Nottingham Panthers tonight.

After last night's 1-0 defeat in Nottingham, it was back to the Sky Dome.

Those present saw an opening period that failed to produce a goal but on 26.03, there was something to cheer for the Coventry fans when Dustin Cameron scored, assisted by Brad Leeb.

On 32.09, the Panthers levelled when David Ling scored,.assisted by Eric Werner and Jon Weaver, who had five season at the Blaze before leaving last season.

Five minutes and forty five seconds into the third period, Ling turned provider to set up Jon Weaver who scored and put Nottingham in front.

The Panthers were a man down due to Jordan Fox being off the ice for cross-checking but on 52.42, Matt Francis was still able to score a third.

The Blaze pulled their net minder to try and get back in the game but on 59.31, Robert Lachowicz scored an empty net goal and gave Nottingham a 4-1 victory.
