Warwicks Let It Slip On Against Hants

Warwickshire County Cricket Club let it slip against Hampshire at Edgbaston on the opening day of their County Championship game.

The visitors won the toss and opted to bat first. Adams was first out for one with the score on 24. Then debutant Andrew Miller got his first wicket for Warwickshire when he had Carberry (77) caught by Tim Ambrose.

It became 123-3 when Miller had Crawley caught by Clarke for Warwicks first bowling point of the game.

Darren Maddy took the wicket of North and Boyd Rankin took his second wicket when he had Ervine LBW for 30 and the score on 183-5.

Miller took a third wicket to end the day with figures of 3-70 whilst Pothas was 79 not out as Hants closed on 310-7.

Coventrian Ian Bell and wicket keeper Tim Ambrose have been selected for England Lions team to play the West Indies at Derby next Thursday. Jon Trott and Chris Woakes have also been included in the side.
