Coventry Sphinx Youth earned a bit of revenge on Bedworth United with a 2-0 League Cup victory tonight at Sphinx Drive.

Things were tight between the top two sides in the Midland Floodlit League Eastern Division in the first half after Danny Pittaway's shot was cleared off the line by Darren Bartley in the second minute.

Gary Mead, who had a fine game struck a post five minutes before the break and in the 61st minute, back heeled the ball for Declan Price.

The winger picked out Michael Wallace who thumped home from close range.

Sphinx's keeper Tommy Hindmarsh made one good save late on pushing the ball over the bar but two minutes from time, Gianni Dainty wrapped up a good victory for John Woodward's side when he was sent clear and cut inside to score with a good finish into the bottom corner of the net.
