Nuneaton Held To A Draw

Nuneaton Town were denied their first win in the Conference Premier Division by a late goal this afternoon

Tom Elliott put Cambridge United a goal up in the 52nd minute. However, Nuneaton went straight down the other end and levelled through a lovely finish from Adam Walker.

Neil Collett saved a Wilmott penalty before Cambridge keeper Jonathan Hedge was sent off for up-ending Wesley York. Their striker Liam Hughes offered to go in goal but his first job was to pick the ball out of the net form the resulting penalty scored by James Armson.

Then, Cambridge were given a free kick and Jennings scored to take away a share of the points.

Leamington beat Hitchin Town 3-0 in a Southern League Premier Division fixture. Dodd scored a 30th minute penalty, Moore hit a second in the 76th minute before Dodd scored a third four minutes from time.

Bedworth United went down to a 1-0 defeat at Arlesley. Goss scored the only goal of the game in the 13th minute.

In the FA Cup, Rugby Town won 4-1 at Studley with goals from Goodyer (7), Lake-Gaskin (40), Koriya (70) pen, Blythe (85).

Nuneaton Griff drew 1-1 at Sporting Khalsa.

In the Les James Challenge Cup, FC Stratford beat Leamington Hibernian 5-4.

In the Midland Combination Premier Division, Coventry Copsewood won 2-0 at Stafford Town, Atherstone won 4-1 at Lichfield City but Racing Club Warwick lost 4-0 to Pershore and Southam United lost 4-2 at Walsall Wood.
