Nuneaton Defeated But Brakes Win

Nuneaton Town went down to a 2-0 defeat at Altrincham in a Conference North game this afternoon.

Damien Reeves put the home side ahead with a 62nd minute penalty and then hit a second in the 76th minute.

Nuneaton's next game is at home to Coventry Sphinx in the Birmingham Senior Cup on Tuesday night. Kick off is at 7.45pm.

Leamington won their Southern League Premier game at Swindon Supermarine 1-0 with a Blythe goal in the final minute.

Bedworth United beat Beaconsfield SYCOB 4-0 at The Oval. Robinson opened the scoring in the 12th minute with former Coventry City and Coventry Sphinx player Tom Bates hitting a second two minutes later. Brown made it 3-0 in the 77th minute before Matty Piggon netted a fourth in stoppage time.

Rugby Town lost 2-1 at Uxbridge after leading through a 23rd minute goal from Hamilton.

In the FA Vase Second Qualifying Round, Coventry Sphinx lost 3-0 at home to Norton United, goals from Mark Faulds and Josh Blake gave Stratford a 2-0 win over Southam United, goals from Dany Douglas and Dale Farley gave Atherstone a 2-0 win at Wolves Sporting, goals from Bawden and Cutting gave Coventry Copsewood a 2-1 win over Castle Vale and Racing Club Warwick beat Bromyard Town 2-1 with goals from Lynch and Lennon in extra time.

In the Premier Division of the Midland Combination, Nuneaton Griff drew 2-2 at home with Bolehall Swifts.

In Division Two, Coventry Spartans drew 1-1 at Burntwood, Young Warriors drew 0-0 at Clements, Leamington Hibernian were beaten 4-1 at home by Aston and FC Stratford drew 4-4 at Polesworth.
