Leamington Win, Bedworth Draw

Leamington are second in the Southern League Premier Division after a 1-0 home win against Chippenham Town.

A crowd of 621 saw Johnson score the only goal in the seventh minute.

Bedworth United drew their Southern League Premier Division game with Chesham United 1-1.

At The Oval, McGleish fired Chesham ahead in the 21st minute but the Greenbacks were level in the 41st minute through Ford in front of a crowd of 168.

Rugby Town were beaten 3-2 at home by Burnham.

Lake Gaskin opened the scoring for Dave Stringer's side in the 34th minute only for Willment to level five minutes later.

Bird scored twice in the 59th and 70th minute and although Lake Gaskin hit a second ten minutes from time, it was not enough to stop many in the crowd of 182 at Butlin Road from going home disappointed.

In the Les James Challenge Cup today, Alvis were beaten 2-0 at home by Cadbury Athletic, but Atherstone beat Greenhill 4-0 and Lee Knibbs' Southam United beat Stretton Eagles 6-4.

in the Midland Combination Premier Division, Coventry Copsewood beat Bloxwich United 3-0 at Allard Way, Racing Club Warwick lost 2-1 at home to Bolehall Swifts whilst Nuneaton Griff's game at Earlswood was postponed.
