Coventry born Cal Crutchlow suffered due to the conditions at the final MotoGP race of the season at the Gran Premio Generali de la Comunitat Valenciana.

On a wet circuit, Crutchlow had got up to second with twelve laps to go but he suffered in the difficult conditions and went out of the race won by Honda’s Dani Pedrosa ahead of Katsuyuki Nakasuga and Casey Stoner.

Crutchlow was ok and tweeted after the race: "Well the end of the year finished with a bang ! A big one ! Oh well ! Had a good season with the team and built well this year.

"It’s had its ups and downs but pleased to have got 2 podiums and showed good speed finally. I look forward to a break and coming back for 2013 ready."
