Coventry Blaze Ice Hockey team beat Nottingham Panthers 5-2 in an Elite League fixture tonight

At the Sky Dome, Nottingham Panthers took the lead on 11.44 through Robert Lachowicz, assisted by Matt Francis and Jordan Fox, only for the Blaze to hit back fifty four seconds later through Gerome Giudice, assisted by Sam Smith and Ben Olsson in a half which ended with Dustin Cameron and Justin Fox both getting five minutes for fighting.

In to the second and the Blaze took the lead when NHL Loanee Matt Belesky found the net on 22.09 with a powerplay goal due to Matt Myers being off the ice for interference, assisted by Shea Guthrie and Mike Schutte.

Nottingham levelled on 36.25 when Robert Lachowicz scored his second goal of the evening, assisted by Stephen Lee and Marc Levers.

The third period saw two quick goals for the Blaze with Brad Leeb scoring a powerplay goal on 40.57, assisted by Mike Schutte and Dustin Cameron, who then netted on 41.55, still on the powerplay, assisted by Gludice and Schutte.

Then, it was five on 44.48 when a full strength Panthers allowed Gerome Giudice to score an unassisted goal. 

The sides meet again on December 5th in a Challenge Cup tie which has been doubled up with a League fixture due to Great Britain's progression in the recent Olympic qualifying tournament in Japan.
