Coventry Blaze Held To A Draw

Coventry Blaze drew 5-5 with Nottingham Panthers in a Challenge Cup Group B game at the Sky Dome tonight.

Coventry got off to a great start and on 3.47, their Korean Woo-Sang Park fired the Blaze ahead assisted by Luke Fulghum and Dave Phillips. 

Nineteen seconds later, there was a second goal when Greg Owen scored, assisted by Bryan Jurynec and Russ Cowley. 

Attacks continued to come. On 11.14, Robert Farmer made it 3-0 assisted by Dave Phillips before Shea Guthrie found the net on 14.04, assisted by Russ Cowley and Robert Farmer. 

The Blaze ended the first period with a fifith goal thanks to Russ Cowley scoring an unassisted goal.

Nottingham who are not used to losing against The Blaze, came back in the second period through Corey Neilson on 24.08, Marc Levers on 37.03 and 37.24 and a powerplay goal from Matt Francis on 38.46.

With a minute and eighteen seconds left, Corey Neilson tied the game and both sides had to settle for a 5-5 draw.
