Coventry Blaze beat Hull Stingrays 5-4 tonight.

Fourth placed Blaze took the lead in this Elite League game at the Sky Dome through Danny Stewart on 1.17.

The Stingrays, whose player coach is former Blaze Sylvain Cloutier, were back with a powerplay goal from Jason Silverthorn.

Greg Owen was off the ice for two minutes for tripping but when he returned he set up Adam Calder for a powerplay goal on 10.04.

Into the second period and on 22.37, it was 3-1 to the Blaze when Russ Cowley fired home from a Derek Campbell assisted.

Hull came back when Curtis Huppe scored against his old club a minute later.

This sparked a fight back for the visitors and on 31.57, a goal from Konstantin Kalmikov tied the match.

The Ukranian right winger turned provider when he found Jeff Glowa on 34.11 to put the visitors ahead.

One minute and seven seconds into the third period and Coventry were level thanks to Greg Owen netting.

Blaze started to press and Luke Fulghum had the Blaze 5-4 up on 51.10 when he netted the winner to the delight of the home support.

Tomorrow, The Blaze travel to Nottingham Panthers. Face off is at 4pm.
