Paul Thompson's side travelled to Newcastle to play this first game of a back to back friendly and won 3-2.
Newcastle led 1-0 at the end of the first period with Payette scoring on a power play.
The second period saw Russ Cowley equalise in the 39th minute assisted by Jamieson.
In the 46th minute,Barrie Moore made it 2-1 to the Blaze with Sylvain Deschalets scoring a third in the 50th minute.
Longstaff pulled one back fo the Vipers but it was the Elite League Champions who won the game.

This is a NON-SEASON ticket game however all season ticket seats will be reserved up till 90 minutes before the game starts. Season ticket holders will recieve a discount on tickets for this game.

Season Tickets are now available for collection. You can pick them up from the matchnight shop (located in Mbargo this year) tonight or from the Hockey Locker anytime during the week.
Season Ticket forms for 2008-09 season are still available at the open end of the ice if you want to book your seats for this years season and take advantage of the new season ticket benefits - get a form, fill it out and let return it to the Hockey Locker.

Tickets for the raffle are available from the Programme stands in front of blocks 2 and 4 before the game and during the first interval, costing £1. Russ will present the winner with this jersey on the ice at the end of the game.
Tickets for the Amalia Beauty 50/50 draw, priced at £1, will also be on sale from the same stands at the same times. The draw winner will receive half of the money from the draw ticket sales presented to them on the ice at the end of the game by their favourite player.
