In front of the Sky TV cameras the Coventry Bees travelled to the East of England showground in Peterborough to take on the Panthers, who have themselves hit a rich vein of form at home recently.

Peterborough is a fast track where the home advantage counts for a lot with lines known, and the Panthers put this to very good effect by taking an instant control of the meeting with two successive 5-1 maximums in the first two races.
Try as they might the Bees were not able to offer much in resistance, only managing 3 heat victories on the night, the last of which came from Rory Schlien in heat 14 as he scored double points under a tactical ride. However the final heat summed up the Bees woes where onthe last corner, whilst holding a secure second place, Rory's bike packed up and handed the Panthers a final 4-2 that made the match result read Peterborough 59 Coventry 34.

The Bees scores for the night are shown below, with team manager Peter Oakes telling the viewers that Scott's confidence is still a bit fragile and, as the Coventry team currently tracks 3 of the Team GB line-up, it is hoped that they all come good soon with the speedway world cup fast approaching.
