Coventry Bees rider Edward Kennett was involved in the Speedway World Cup Qualifier at Kings Lynn.

Kennett rode for Great Britain along with former Bees riders Chris Harris and Ben Barker. Former Bees rider Krysztof Kasprzak rode for Poland and Filp Sitera rode for the Czech Republic with Russia who did not include Emil Sayfutdinov also in the competition.

With only the winning country progressing to Saturday's final and the second team having to go to Poland to try and qualify on Thursday, this was an important event.

Ed Kennett came second in his first heat, then won heat ten and heat thirteen. He was second in heat seventeen and second in heat twenty one in a meeting won by Poland who had Kazprzak take a fifteen point maximum.

Great Britain and Russia now meet Sweden and Australia in the race off on Thursday night in Poland at 6pm

Poland 62

Great Britain 49

Russia 21
