Coventry Bees Speedway Team went down to a 52-41 defeat at Belle Vue.

Anders Mellgren was the guest rider for the Bees who were beaten 5-1 in the opening heat but had Michal Szczepaniak win Heat Two ahead of Mellgren for a 5-1 to level the scores.

With Zengota disqualified from a re-run heat three, the hosts rode to a 5-1 which was followed up by a 4-2 win.

Krzysztof Kasprzak rode to a win in heat five for a 4-2 to The Bees, but two 5-1's to Belle Vue either side of a 3-3 had the Manchester based side 30-18 up after eight heats.

Mellgren took a tactical rider in heat nine which finished 3-3 and followed by a re-run 5-1 win for The Aces.

Sixteen points down,  Kasprzak took the tactical ride in heat even and rode to a 7-2 win but a 5-1 to Belle Vue in heat twelve had the Aces back to fifteen points ahead.

Zagar's bike packed up and the Bees rode to a 5-1. Belle Vue wiped that out with a 5-1 of their own and although Nicholls and Kasprzak took a 5-1 in the final heat, Coventry went down to a disappointing 52-41 defeat which is their third this season in four meetings.
