Coventry City Reserves beat Notts County for the second time of asking this season with a 2-0 victory at Ryton this morning.
Alan Cork named a young side with Stephen Hughes and Mikkel Bischoff in the starting line up along side Spanish trialist and midfielder Ray Garcia.
On the bench was the welcome return of Adam Virgo whose CCFC career after joining on loan from Celtic had been curtailed following an injury against Cardiff back in August.
In a tight first half on a sunny morning at Ryton, Stephen Hughes had the first chance when his left footed effort flashed past the far post in the 17th minute.
Three minutes later, the visitors struck a post when Belford was caught coming out of his goal.
The woodwork was starting to take a pounding. County's number ten struck the post again eight minutes after the first hit with a close range drive before Lee Hildreth firstly brought a stunning save from the keeper with a shot from the edge of the area and then thumped a strike on to the foot of the post.
In the 34th minute,Alan Cork's side took the lead through Reis Ashraf who broke down the left before lobbing the ball over the keeper and into the net.
Both sides had goals ruled out for offside before Andy Gooding put City further ahead on the hour mark when he finished with a low drive from eighteen yards.

Hughes and Andy Gooding put together some neat passing moves in the centre of midfield where most of the play had been concentrated before Alan Cork decided to switch things round.
Adam Virgo came on in the 62nd minute and went out on the right flank pushing Garcia who had not really impressed into the centre of midfield. The former Brighton man replaced the hard working Liam Robinson
Two more youngsters who had good games in Dale Jones and Reis Ashraf were replaced three minutes later.
Cameron Belford had to make two quality saves late on but City had done enough to seal a good victory.
