The Isle of Capri casino at the Ricoh Arena could be closed down if a new buyer is not found staff have been told.
Donn Mitchell, the Senior Vice President of the Isle Of Capri's UK operations said to the CT: "We have made significan growth inprovements to our operating results over the past year however, the growth potential for this property does not warrant significant resources currently being allocated to it.
"We believe that a domestic gaming operator will be better able to leverage their synergies to make the property successful. As a result, we have informed our employess of the likelihood that we will reach an agreement with another casino operator or face the possibility of being forced to close down this operation."
Whilst, the casino which opened in June 2007 has attracted a clientele of regular punters, the high rollers it needs to attract have not been forthcoming and losses have been incurred.
Talks are believed to be progressing well according to ACL Chief Daniel Gidney, who said to the CT: "We are supporting the Isle Of Capri's detailed discussion with such companies and are doing everything we can to help ensure a smooth and successful transition."
