Coventry City produced a scintillating second-half performance on Monday night to sweep aside Newcastle United 4-1 at the Coventry Building Society Arena.
The victory marks the first time the Sky Blues have registered consecutive Premier League wins since their relegation in 2001, moving Frank Lampard side up to 11th in the table.
Jack Rudoni opened the scoring from the penalty spot early in the first half after a defensive foul in the area.
Newcastle levelled before the interval, but Coventry overran the Magpies during a ruthless second-half display, scoring three unanswered goals to put the contest out of reach.
Speaking after the final whistle, Coventry manager Frank Lampard hailed the hunger of his players.
"To come out in the second half and play with that degree of tempo and fearlessness against a side of Newcastle quality was outstanding," he said.
"We asked for character, and the players delivered it in abundance."
The result piles fresh scrutiny on Newcastle head coach Matthias Jaissle, whose team have won just one of their opening six Premier League fixtures.
