Coventry City remain unbeaten under Steven Pressley following a 1-0 win over Hartlepool United.

With the season now being seen by many as over with Leon Clarke being out and the possible administration\liquidation plus points deduction on Friday March 22nd, it was no surprise that the Ricoh Arena was not packed to the rafters for Hartlepool's first ever league visit.

Steven Pressley, who could be out of a job if new investors take charge and want their own man, was forced into one change. That was Jordan Stewart who got his debut due to Carl Dickinson's loan being up.

Stewart was involved straight away clearing for a corner with only fifty seconds gone.

Poole fired wide and another corner in the fifth minute saw the totally unmarked Peter Hartley fire over.

Stewart and Edjenguele got City out of another mess in the 20th minute after the assistant referee was not up with play.

A great kick from Murphy after he had picked up a 22nd minute corner found McDonald who had a shot blocked.

A City corner was wasted as was another in the 27th minute.

The frustration was setting in amonst the support as the rain came down but in the 32nd minute, there was cheers when Cody McDonald got in a good position on the right and smashed the ball low into the net at the end where the 100 Hartlepool fans were.

McSheffrey had City's first chance of the second half firing wide two minutes after the restart.

Five minutes later and Franck Moussa, who for me, worked hard, had a shot on the turn and then whipped in a shot which Flinders deflected for a corner.

The rain was now pouring down, forcing the soaking support back up into the stands.

For the last twenty minutes, Callum Wilson was sent on for Cody McDonald.

Wilson was involved as the ball came over to McSheffrey on the left hand side of the area. He took a touch and as he did, a Hartlepool defender came in and blocked.

Some of the East Stand especially where the school parties were booed him, causing a few stares from some of the City support which included some from as far away as Newcastle.

Pressley took Franck Moussa off for the last thirteen minutes and sent on John Fleck.

Carl Baker fired straight at Flinders before McSheffrey was replaced by David Bell.

In stoppage time, Baker had another shot saved by Flinders and although it was not the best performance, it was a welcome home win.
