City lose at Bristol

Goals from Bristol City's McAllister 66 and Johnson 80 condemned Coventry City to defeat in tonight's game at Ashton Gate. Morrison and McPake were booked for the Sky Blues.

Bristol
climb to 7th place with 57 points, the same tally as Swansea. Coventry City drop a place down to 15th.

Michael Mifsud, on loan to Barnsley, scored the opening goal of the game against Birmingham, but three minutes later, Birmingham equalised to earn a 1-1 draw.


Leaders Wolves drew 0-0 at home to Ipswich.

Jay Tabb came on in the 60th minute for third placed Reading and supplied the corner kick that was headed home by Shane Long in a 2-2 draw with relegation haunted Charlton.


With the top three clubs all drawing, the top of the table remains as it was with Wolves on top, Birmingham second and reading in third place


Cardiff
stay fourth despite fourth losing 2-0 away to Norwich. Dimi Konstantopololous made a complete howler for the first goal.  The win lifts Norwich up one place, but they are still in the bottom three. Southampton drop a place despite a 1-1 draw with Derby.


Other results in the Championship are; Doncaster 2 QPR 0, Preston 1 Sheffield Wednesday 1, Sheffield United 2 Blackpool 2, Swansea 1 Plymouth 0, Watford 2 Notts Forest 1.

Locally, Rugby Town drew 2-2 at Brackley thanks to a Pearson brace. 

In the Southern League Midland Division, leaders Leamington won 2-1 at Chesham United with goals from Stuart Herlihy and Mark Bellingham.

Nuneaton Borough were held to a 1-1 draw at home by Chasetown whilst Bedworth also drew at home to Stourport Swifts with Adam Kinder on target for the Greenbacks. Third place Atherstone won 1-0 at Bromsgrove Rovers thanks to a fourth minute Greenway goal.

In the Midland Alliance, it really does look like curtains for Racing Club Warwick who were thrashed 9-0 at leaders Market Drayton Town. Stratford Town beat Tipton Town 2-0 with goals from Jakab and Faulds.

Former Coventry City Academy striker Ange Lorougnon scored for Barwell in a 4-2 win at Studley with a former team mate of his Aza Ogarro scoring for Cradley Town in a 6-1 JW Hunt Cup tie victory against Oldbury Athletic.

In the Midland Combination Premier Division, a 35th minute Luke Williams goal gave Coventry Copsewood a 1-1 draw at Bartley Green whilst Massey Ferguson won 2-1 at Continental Star thanks to a goal from former Sphinx player James Harri and S.Manoocheri.
 
Southam United are through to the Birmingham Midweek Floodlit Challenge Cup Final with a 3-0 win against Dudley Town thanks to first half goals from Graham, Coles and Jones .
