Coventry City are out of the FA Cup after losing 2-1 to Northampton Town.

Tony Mowbray made four changes to the side that beat Barnsley on Tuesday night which became five when Reice Charles-Cook pulled up with a leg injury in the warm up.

Northampton took the lead in the fourth minute when a Nick Adams free kick sailed in.

City levelled six minutes later through Jacob Murphy but the Cobblers were back in front when Marc Richards headed home in the 17th minute.

Tony Mowbray sent on Ryan Haynes and then Bas Sambou for his debut, followed by Lateef Elford-Alliyu.

But it was to no avail and City's cup interest was over for another year.
