Swansea City boss Brendan Rodgers felt that his team stayed strong and got a good return for their trip to Coventry City.

Speaking after The Swans 1-0 victory, Rodgers told the Press Association; "It was a tough game for us and we knew it would be. We knew Coventry would be coming into this fresh and they have a style that meant we knew we would have to defend a lot of high balls.

"We stood strong to that and we kept ourselves in the game for long enough that we could eventually take control of a difficult game and get a fantastic win.

"We had to show steel and determination to get the result and those are the things you have to have if you are going to be a top team and be successful.

"I think we have shown what we are all about and Ashley Williams has just said that we are now winning games that we maybe wouldn't have done before.

"That's our eighth away win in the Championship and that's a very pleasing return."
