Coventry City manager Andy Thorn is not that keen on having a former manager as a Director Of Football.

Bobby Gould, a player and twice City manager has indicated that he would be interested in helping out one  of his former players, but speaking to the CT, Thorn was not too keen on the idea saying:  “It's  not something I’m overboard on. I don’t know where that’s come from, but I’ll probably have a text from Gouldy at some stage.

“It’s the club’s decision, but I think we need is somebody with a bit of experience in the transfer market who can work on that side so I can focus on the team on the pitch.

“Hopefully I’ll be able to give my targets to the boys higher up and there will be somebody there who can battle for what I want.

“The important thing is that I’ve been able to say what I think. I’ve had an input which I’m sure they’ll take on board, and you don’t have to be a rocket scientist to see that I haven’t been able to do that since I took over.”

Thorn was reluctant to discuss the sudden departure of Dulieu, whose position became untenable after his appearance on the bench against Hull City earlier this month made City something of a laughing stock throughout the football world.

“Ken was of the opinion that he was there to offer “It can do, and it’s not something I’m overboard on. I don’t know where that’s come from, but I’ll probably have a text from Gouldy at some stage.
