Defender Adie Williams admits that City are in for a tough time as they now battle to avoid being sucked into the relelgation zone.

The Welshman told the CET: "We are only five points off the bottom three so we are in a relegation battle. "If someone is five points off the top six they will say they have got a chance of making the play-offs. Although it is early doors we need some performances and results and we need them quick, but we won't get any if we continue to play like that. It is as simple as that.

"We have got to take a long hard look at ourselves, work hard on the training pitch and turn the corner. The good thing in football is that there is always a game only a few days away to get the chance to put things right.

"There is nothing better than doing that and then forgetting about results like the one at Gillingham and then look forward to the next one.

"Confidence is massive in football and we need one or two results to get that back and get the belief back. I am not saying they are not there at the moment, but looking at the league table it is difficult not to be a little bit concerned that it is going to be a hard season ahead."
