Coventry City CEO Steve Waggott has said that he is a big believer in making football affordable.

City have announced that their designated game for the Football League initiative of "Kids For A Quid" which has been running since in the late 1990's, will be the game against Colchester United on Saturday April 11th.

Speaking to the club website, Mr Waggott said: “I am a big believer in making football more affordable – especially for families – and I do hope that this offer will help to draw more future members of the Sky Blue Army to the Ricoh Arena.

“I am looking very keenly at how we can address the affordability of football next season and beyond but, in the meantime, we can run offers such as this to help attract more people to a game.

“It’s absolutely vital that Coventry City becomes the best supported club by young boys and girls in the area. I know success on the field is fundamental to that but as a club we must also make it an affordable, fun day out.

“I hope we see an uplift in the attendance from the Kids for a Quid game and hopefully we can draw in some youngsters who become Coventry City fans for life.”
