Coventry City manager Chris Coleman has been speaking about  the delay in signing Sam Vokes on loan from Wolves. Coleman had hope  the deal to bring the 19 year old striker to Coventry would be done by Thursday at the latest, but now he expect the deal to be done today or early next week.

Coleman told the Coventry Telegraph. “I was expecting to have him in by now but sometimes these things are a bit drawn out.The player wants to come to us, we want to take him and I think Wolves are happy for him to come."

"
There are one or two little things we need to iron out, apparently, but Wolves have been very good in letting us talk to Sam and his agent because we are not the only show in town. But he wants to come to us so I am hoping and praying that we get things sorted out and that we get him across."

Coleman continued by saying, “He will know all about us and the players we have got. He is a young player himself and will know that we have got a lot of young players and sometimes it is nice that they know they are in the company of lads in and around their age group because it is easier for them to settle in."

“I have had a good chat with Sam and we discussed his fitness because he has not been playing much, so I discussed how I saw the loan move for him and us and he was very happy with that, so I am hoping we can agree on everything.

“I am keeping my fingers crossed because he is a big strong boy who attacks the ball very well in the box.

"He works very hard and is a good target man.

"Clinton, Leon and Freddy are different types of strikers so I feel he will be a good addition for us.”
