Van Aanholt Nets In Rare Chelsea Defeat

Former Coventry City loanee Patrick Van Aanholt scored for Chelsea tonight in a League Cup tie at Stamford Bridge. However, Newcastle went on to record theri first win at Chelsea since 1986 with a 4-3 win.

Former Coventry City and Coventry Sphinx midfielder Kevin Thornton set up both goals for Northampton as they drew 2-2 at Liverpool after extra time. Both Thornton and Liam Davis scored their penalties as Northampton won 4-2.

Jonny Tuffey (pictured below) got his first start for Inverness Caledonian Thistle but could do nothing as they were beaten 6-0 at Celtic.
