Two Or Three Players To Come In

Coventry City manager Chris Coleman is hoping to bring in two or three new players in the close season to boost the Sky Blues squad.

Said the City boss to the CT: "We have had the January transfer window, then this little loan one but all season we have been thinking 'these are the players we want - and if we don't get them, these players are behind them and then more behind them.'

"We have been talking about this summer's targets since last summer because it is ongoing - there are certain players you know you are not going to get in the next window but might get later on.

"Sometimes you are surprised and you end up getting one much sooner than you thought.

Sometimes you have to wait longer which is a pain in the backside, but you are always looking and you have targets that you work on for six months down the line.

"If we get as many in as last summer then I hope they have as big an impact as the boys we have already brought in because then we would be a happy bunch.

"But that won't be easy because I brought in more than I expected last time when the chairman, the board and chief scout Andy Thorn worked very hard.

"So I don't see us signing six players again in the summer but if we got two or three who are of the same quality, then I would be very happy."
