Iain Turner who last Saturday was in goal for Coventry City at Millwall, was in goal for an Everton side which contained City midifelder Lee Carsley that lost 4-1 to Liverpool this afternoon at Anfield in a testimonial for Jamie Carragher.

With a crowd of 34,631 watching on, Garragher scored penalties for both teams in a match which also saw the appearance of England international Steven Gerrard, who had special dispensation to play in the match ahead of England's Euro 2012 Qualifier with Switzerland on Tuesday night and the likes of Joe Cole, Luis Garcia, Emile Heskey and Michael Owen, plus City old boys Stephen Warnock, Gary McAllister and David Thompson.

Carragher beat Turner from the penalty spot in the first half with Luis Garcia, Joe Cole and Nathan Ecclestone scoring for Liverpool before Carragher, who hopes to raise £1m from the testimonial and other events for his 23 Foundation and charities he supports, scored an own goal for Everton, whom he supported as a boy when he took their penalty for them.
