Trust Calls On CCFC To Play At Ricoh For Good Of The Fans

Last updated : 24 March 2013 By SBT

The Sky Blue Trust notes with great concern the ambiguous stance taken by the Club in their recent press statements. By choosing to move the staff and shop of the Ricoh Arena they have caused great anxiety to fans as to what is happening to their club.

The club has also made the venue for the next home fixture unclear, causing even more uncertainty and concern amongst the fans and the Trust urges the club to put the supporters needs first and not seek to play home games elsewhere, even on a temporary basis, simply for dubious economic reasons.

The club is still within touching distance of the play-offs and to be treating supporters with such disregard and disrespect causes confusion and will affect the numbers attending and thereby damage the teams chances of promotion. We cannot see that, by playing away from the Ricoh, they really are, as they maintain, "doing everything in our power to reach a suitable outcome for all supporters.

The Trust calls upon the Club to honour its commitment to its supporters and its contract with season ticket holders by playing all of their home games in Coventry. We urge the Club and ACL to resume negotiations to resolve this problem and to do everything they can to avoid further damage to the reputation of the Club and to remove the uncertainty facing all Sky Blue fans.
