Todays SCG Meeting II

Last updated : 05 February 2007 By Covsupport/SB

One subject spoken about was the car parking for Coventry support that had travelled to away matches. Whilst the club continue to press Arena Coventry Ltd (ACL) to have supporters be able to use car parks A or D to park, ACL have insisted that car park C continues to be used. To this end the club have paid for stewards to be present during these days so far with success. It seems that there have since been incidents in car parks A & D during the week, and also in car park C during home matches, all of which are under investigation by police and it is believed that at least 2 arrests have been made as a result.

The meeting put forward a suggestion of having city centre coach pick-ups instead of being at the Ricoh, due to the ease of supporters to be able to get back home afterwards. This will be checked into by the club.

On the ticketing side the club agreed that from next season the booking fee will be dropped for tickets that have been ordered but picked up in person form the ticket office.

Ken Sharp announced that on March 14th the pitch will be blessed in a multi-cultural ceremony. and that the Rev Justin Welby will be speaking at a meeting of faiths later this evening to put the proposal forward.

The ongoing problem of concourse congestion at half time was raised and this has also been put to ACL, the feeling that the shutters between the Telegraph and Tesco's stands making things worse by not allowing people to spread out more throughout the concourse. This and the large queues experienced at the Luton match will be passed onto both ACL and Compass.

The date for the end of season dinner has been set as May 9th but the venue is still to be confirmed. Acts Keedie and Subteranians have been booked, and further details will be announced once the venue is known.
