Tim´s Happy So Far

Coventry City Assistant manager Tim Flowers has said that he is happy with the way things have progressed since his arrival at the Sky Blues.

Said the long standing City supporter whose first game was against Carlisle United in 1974 to the CT: "It's been an incredible few weeks and you couldn't have written it any better really when you look at the fixtures we had on paper amid a particularly difficult end to the season, when we have to play all of the top six.

"But having already played Southampton and Wolves at home and beaten them, and won every game at home and not been beaten away, the sheer effort and commitment the players have given has been exemplary, it really has.

"So I am delighted. "Iain said to the boys in a debrief about the Barnsley game that it isn't just about him, me, Frank (Bunn) and John (Harbin), it is about them, the players.

"Yes, we watch the opposition and try to come up with a plan to beat them, but they are the ones who have to execute it.

"What they have shown to the cause - and I don't just mean on a Saturday - every single day when I hear laughing, joking, people enjoying themselves and treating each other with respect means that it is a very good club to be at at the moment.

"Having said that, it is only six games and we have got to make sure that it carries on right through to the end of the season and into next year as well, so that's part of our job to maintain those standards and, when the time is right, increase and improve the squad and make sure that what we bring in is better than what we have got."

"I think recruitment is probably the hardest thing because if you don't do your homework and get it right then it can scupper what you are trying to achieve.

"We have got a group who are all in the boat rowing in the same direction at the moment and we have seen the results, and it is amazing what you can achieve with a bit of confidence.
