Coventry City Manager Andy Thorn said that he wants some new success for City supporters to talk about

“At the moment when I speak to Oggy he talks about 1987 and when you speak to a lot of people they do the same because they’ve had nothing else to talk about,” Thorn said to the CT's Andy Turner.

“We need that winning mentality that people haven’t seen since 1987, and that’s what needs to come back and what we intend to bring back in once we come out of that embargo.

“Sometimes you have to hit the bottom to come back, and I think we’ve done that. We’ve been close this season but not close enough, but we will come out of it with fresh faces and new ways of doing things. There will be an ethos in the club and a winning mentality.

“You have to strip it back to go forward and I am convinced once we come out of the embargo we can move forward.

“Everyone has to pull in the same direction and I think that’s started already. Everyone is hurting but we can come back stronger. It has been proven you can do that.

“I don’t want any negativity. I want everyone at it and the crowd will come back and support a club that wants to be successful and I am convinced things can take off.”
