The Season Is Not Finished - Coleman

Coventry City manager Chris Coleman has reminded his players that the season is not over.

City have ten games left and are seven points out of the relegation zone and eleven out of the play-offs after Tuesday night's defeat at Bristol City.

"The wheels have come off a little bit since Sheffield United," said Chris Coleman to the CT.

"I said that the Chelsea game would either be a hindrance or we would march on after that, but unfortunately it has been a hindrance in terms of results and it has taken a lot out of us as a club, not just the players.

"We were desperate not to have a hangover but that's exactly what we have done - and the only way over it is to get a positive result in our next game. There is no special formula.

"It was such a frenzy building up to the Chelsea game but you can't blame the supporters because they haven't had a game like that for a long time and everything else was put on the back burner.

"There is always the danger of being side-tracked in the FA Cup the further you go in it, and I don't think it has helped us.

"It has had the reverse effect and instead of turning it into a positive it has been a negative for us.

"Ten days ago the form we were in we would have gone to Bristol City and won, so we have got to get that edge back, and the good thing is we have still got 10 games left to get some good results.

"There is a very, very small possibility that we will get in the play-offs, but it looks like we have missed the boat.

"Maybe I got a little bit carried away because we were on such a good run and looking like we would beat any team that came in front of us.

"But maybe that was pushing too hard and asking for too much too soon. It is imperative that we have a good end to the season because it can't be like last year.

"We have worked too hard and shown too much this year and we must get back to that.

"I won't let this season drift and I won't let anyone go into these games thinking the highlight of our season has gone.

"It hasn't been and gone and there is still more for us, and finishing in the top half is a good step forward.

"We are in that position where we are slightly looking over our shoulders but we can pick up a lot of points in these last 10 games."
