The Must Win Game

Coventry City go in to their final home game of the season against Wolves tomorrow facing one of the biggest matches since they were confined to the Championship in 2001.

Normally by now, we have had the staying up party and have got over the hangover but City need a win to ensure that they are playing Championship football in their 125th year.

The win last week at Colchester game at the right time and the bookies no longer have the Sky Blues in their three to take the last remaining relegation place, but they are in for a very difficult time against a Wolves side which also needs a win.

The Molineux based side have hoisted themselves to only two points behind sixth placed Crystal Palace after a 3-0 home win against Cardiff City on Tuesday night.

City boss Chris Coleman remains confident that the Sky Blues can ge the job done and told the CT: "It's the World Cup final for us. If we win, we're done, we are in this league for next year, and that's the priority.

"We know we have got two bites of the cherry with Charlton afterwards, but let's do it Saturday and not have to worry about what happens elsewhere. "There have been so many twists and turns but, touch wood, there won't be another one for us this season. If we win this game then it doesn't matter what anybody else does.

"We are at home and know we are up against a very strong Wolves side who come off the back of a very good result against Cardiff. "They know that if they win their last two games they have a chance of the playoffs, but it is all about us - if we win we seal our own fate."

Other Championship Matches

Barnsley v Charlton
Barnsley are in the same position as the Sky Blues needing a win from their remaining two matches against a Charlton side which has nothing to play for.

Burnley v Cardiff
A mid table battle but you would fancy Burnley who won at Southampton last Saturday against a Cardiff side with an FA Cup Final firmly on their minds.

Colchester v Stoke
The last ever League game at Layer Road, sees the visitors needing a victory which would put them top until Monday night. Colchester were ripped apart by the Sky Blues last Saturday and if they cannot come up with some answers then they will leave Layer Road definitely bottom of the Championship

Hull v Palace
Both sides are in the play-off spots and both need a victory. For Hull,a win would lift them possibly second whilst Palace could go fourth if they win and possbly out of the top six if they don't.

Leicester Sheffield Wednesday
A massive game here as well. Two points seperate the teams. Although both sides would wecolme the win, a draw would be enough for both sides and lift Wednesday out of the bottom three.

Norwich v QPR
18th place Norwich need a victory against a QPR side planning for next season.

Plymouth v Blackpool
Blackpool's run of poor form has dragged them into the relegation battle and a defeat from the long trek to Home Park would not help their cause.

Preston v Ipswich
Ipswich go into the game knowing that two wins could sneak them into the play-offs. They will be up aganst a Preston side which has one of the best home records in the league.

Sheffield United v Bristol City
This is a must win game for the visitors who need to keep their spot in the play-off places. A win could see them go third.
