Coventry City manager Chris Coleman was full of praise for his players for their effort and application during the 1-1 draw with Bristol City.

Speaking about the point which was City's first against The Robins at the Ricoh Arena, Coleman said to the club website: "I thought our first half play was absolutely excellent.

"We really dominated the first 45 minutes and we played football on the front foot to the point where we could have been two goals up at half time.

"We had a second goal adjudged to be offside which wasn't in my opinion but that was one of a couple of decisions that went against us that shouldn't have.

"Take nothing away from the finish for their equalizer, but we felt there were two incidents of handball leading up to the goal which is disappointing and it was also a bad time to concede.

"We started to defend a bit too deeply in the second half but I thought the lads put so much effort into the first half.

"The important thing is we've stopped a run of two straight defeats and the effort and application of the boys was fantastic.

"I really felt that if we had been two up at half time it would have been over."
