Summer Goodbye?

It was reported earlier today that Coventry's Michael Doyle wants to quit the club at the end of the season due to his enduring feelings following the recent training ground incident involving Robert Page, following which Doyle required dental surgery treatment for three front teeth.

Both players had time away from the club in the immediate aftermath, and were in the team line-up for the last match at the Ricoh against Cardiff. However, as reported in a recent newspaper article, Doyle insists he was the victim of the incident and it would appear that he feels that a summer move away from the Sky Blues is an option.

He told the Irish Sun: “To this day, the club have not dealt with the problem. They didn't back me and that's very hard to accept.

“After it happened, I had some time off and spoke to my family and people around me. I decided the best thing to do was to walk away from the club.

“I thought it was best I got a fresh start ... but there was only a day or two left in the transfer window and the club were looking for swap deals and rejected one bid for me so I've ended up staying put.”

He continued: “So much has happened since I've been here. I've had six managers if you include Adrian Heath. It seems to be the same story every year. We win our opening game but then our form nosedives, we're in danger of getting relegated and the boss gets sacked.”

It remains to be seen whether the new management appointment, due by the end of the month, would have any influence on what happens in the summer months.
