Coventry Sphinx have signed French midfielder Frederick Amougou-Amougou.

The 21 year old former ASPTT Orleans player signed after a successful trial with the club and with the relevant International Clearance obtained, Sphinx manager Paul Charnley will be looking for Amougou to gain match fitness ahead of a gruelling schedule of games which will see his side play 12 games in 5 ½ weeks.

Charnley said to the Sphinx website, "Freddie looks a very good player and the lads have all commented in training just how good he is. They've nicknamed him 'Vieira' because of his physique and style of play and I'm hopeful he will force his way into the squad over the coming games. There is still a long way to go and having another quality player added to the squad will only help our cause"

Charnley has also added former Stratford Town player Scott McGregor and former goalkeeper Simon 'Sammy' Holland to his squad. McGregor, 26, played an hour in the reserve game versus Warwick Town last week and was involved in the first team squad for Saturday's 3-0 victory over Feckenham. Holland has appeared in the last 4 fixtures and returns to the club since leaving to live down south back in 2002.
