Coventry Sphinx tonight held their end of season awards at their Sphinx Drive home. The Midland Combination Premier Division Champions who have announced a sponsorship deal with Halmarc Security Services had the awards introduced by CEO Danny Cahill.

The evening started with the Youth team which finished fourth in their league and made it to the FA Youth Cup First Round Proper v Nottingham Forest. They put in a battling performance in front of a big home crowd before succumbing to a 2-0 defeat. It was an event that showed the Sphinx committee were capable of staging a show and some tremendous work was put in to ensure that Sphinx Drive is good enough for Midland Alliance and FA Cup football next season.

Top goalscorer for the Youth Team with 17 goals was Callum Woodward, Players Player was Richard Elliott and Manager John Woodward's Player was Ryan Mulholland.

Lee Knibbs is the manager of Coventry Sphinx Reserves who finished fifth in Division Two of the Midland Combination. His side were also Challenge Vase winners plus Jack Mould runners-up.

Top Scorer 19 goals in 17 games was Robbie Scott. Players Player was Thomas Haywood and Managers Player Of The Year was Gary Mead.

For Coventry Sphinx's first team, this was an occasion to be very proud of their efforts this season. Both the Coventry Charity Cup and the Birmingham Midweek Vase were won but the biggest prize was the Midland Combination Premier Division title

Manager Paul Charnley was proud and delighted to present the following players with the following awards.

Top Goalscorer with 24 goals was Craig Martin. Players Player - Shaun Thomas. Manager's Players Shaun Thomas

Other awards saw Supporters Player Of The Year go to Defender Terry Ward, Clubman Of The Year Award to Neil Buswell, Most Improved Player to Jerome Murdock,an outstanding award to Joey Fletcher. Thank you's were also presented to Jackie McGowan,Rose White and Marion Williams.

The Covsupport News Service Player Of The Year was Shaun Thomas.
