Sell The Ricoh To SISU - Byng

Michael Byng has urged Coventry City Council to sell the Ricoh Arena to Coventry City's owners SISU.

Seen by many as probably the only way to get Coventry City FC back playing in its home city, Byng, a regular visitor to Sixfields has spoken out and told the Coventry Telegraph's Les Reid: "It is in nobody's interests for the current arrangement to go on and escalate.

"A pitch battle will damage everything including the club and city."

Byng, who admitted that City Council directors and those of Arena Coventry Limited, which runs the stadium, were ready to discuss selling the freehold of the stadium to not only his Chinese backers but the likes of potential investors such as Preston Haskell IV and Jeremy Schwimmer, also said that: "council leaders were "set against selling to Sisu but they have no alternative under EU competition law to offer Sisu the same opportunities as any other bidder."
